W6. Green consumption/ Seoyoung Um

Green consumption is closely related to the concept of sustainable development or sustainable consumer behavior. This is a consumption that protects the environment for the present and next generations. Examples are consumer responsibility or joint responsibility for solving environmental problems through use of organic agricultural products, and through actions such as cleanliness and renewable energy. Even when I was young, I couldn't find the word "green consumption" easily, but it seems that I started to listen to it more and more as I grew older. In particular, I felt it when I saw a store that specializes in selling Yukinun products. Unlike the past, when it was not used much because it was expensive, it seems that quite a few people are now using organic agricultural products for their health and the environment. Green consumption includes green energy and green fashion for environmentally friendly foods. What other activities are called green consumption?

Week 6-2 | Clean Growth | Lee Jaeseong

1. Summary Clean growth is the seventh goal of the sustainability goal, first announced by the United Nations in 2009. This means the UN's economic growth goal of using renewable energy technology using energy-efficient and sustainable agricultural practices. Nicholas Sarkozy said, taking into account environmental and economic growth together. "Our first goal is to find the way to achieve "clean" growth and I want to defend this idea here today. We haven't got to choose between saving the planet and growth. We need to have growth and save the planet. So we need a growth that consumes less energy and fewer raw materials. A new economy must be invented." The term was used as a means to redefine the value of economic growth and development. An increase in income from GDP cannot account for an increase in quality of life. Economic growth is a good thing, but historically puts growth speed ahead of quality of economic development. In this case, it is sai...

W6.2 Programme for Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment/김윤(KIM YOON)

<Programme for Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment> Summary PEACE is an environmental project of a four-year plan established by the EU in 2013. Sixty-two percent of the funds collected here were used to build a hydro power station in the area. This is maintained by the community with a sense of mission. This aims to reduce the use of trees and consequently reduce deforestation, which has been a big problem for the region. This suggests saving about 88,000 tons of carbon dioxide each year. Interesting I found out that there are many organizations for the environment that I didn't know in every part of the world. I think that national, regional and even individuals should actively engage in environmental protection activities with a sense of belonging that they live in a single district. Discussion How is Korea? Are the people working together and countries working together to take the lead in protecting the environment?

W6.2 Renewable resource/김윤(KIM YOON)

<Renewable Resource> Summary Renewable resources refer to resources that are renewable and can be reproduced for a certain level. It includes water, forest, air and non-agricultural foods and so on, all of which could reach their limits and eventually run out if humans overuse them. In order to protect resources, some countries have laws and subsidies in place. In addition, various eco-friendly materials such as bioplastics and bioscale are used at industrial sites to protect the environment. Despite these efforts, some people and businesses are overfishing and deforestation for profit. Interesting I was interested in over-packaging using plastic, so it was good to learn about bioplastics. It was contributing a little to the environment by making bioplastics with corn starch and vegetable oil. However, since bioplastics also contain petroleum, one of the components of plastic, the best environmental protection method will have to try to reduce the use of plastic itself in ...

WK 7.2 Video Black Holes - Hanane Ben Abdeslam

According to the video, a Black Hole is a name more fitting for the event horizon of an object, where gravity prevents light from escaping, rather than wat that object is. Black holes do not just suck material into them, indeed a star that’s turned into one has a lot gravitational force than it used to and you could normally fly by one far closer than you could fly by a star of the same mass without being harmed in the least bit. Earth is a place where you can’t see events occurring beyond it. The difference is that on earth, if you live in a village you can walk over to the horizon, to see what’s going on, and walk back home to tell everyone what you saw. Obviously if you lived on a planet that was a big balloon, you’d have to walk further to get to that horizon as it’s further away on larger spheres, and you’d have to walk faster than it was expanding in order to take a look and come home. The gravity that gives off, is based on energy, mass that really matters, mass just happens ...

Category - Food for the Hungry / Kim Ami

1.      Summary   Food for Hungry (FH) is a Christian international relief, development and advocacy group operating in more than 20 countries. It does it by going to the most difficult places, empowering local leaders, and "together" with them, leading the community to a place where it can flourish and stand on its own feet. When Larry Ward founded the FH, he purchased resources with a personal credit card for children dying of hunger-related causes. In addition, oral fire continued until the late 1970s, helping refugees in Bangladesh. Later, they began working in the country without first responding to humanitarian disasters through a children's sponsorship programs. They implemented development that focused on changing communities by working closely with churches, leaders and families. Countries helped by the group include Bangladesh, Bolivia and Cambodia. 2.      Interesting point         When I thought of...

W6. Climate-friendly school/ Kim Seonghui

Climate-friendly school   1. Summary Climate-friendly schools are schools that use education to promote a sustainable culture. For some schools, these climate-related problems are important because they directly affect them. In this school, members learn and practice how to live. Schools make efforts to reduce climate change in all aspects of life. Let me give you examples of some of the schools. First, there is the Colégio Israelita Brasileiro A, in Brazil. They made their own solar ovens, green roofs, and so on, making students experience climate-friendly things. Secondly, Nagoya International School declared in its mission statement that a sustainable school culture should be developed. It aims to become a person who takes active action for sustainable development.   2. New/Interesting Most schools have a lot of environmental protection education. It was amazing that there was a climate-friendly school for sustainable development. It is likely to greatly he...
