W6.2 Renewable resource/김윤(KIM YOON)
<Renewable Resource>
Summary
Renewable resources refer to resources that are renewable and can be reproduced for a certain level. It includes water, forest, air and non-agricultural foods and so on, all of which could reach their limits and eventually run out if humans overuse them. In order to protect resources, some countries have laws and subsidies in place. In addition, various eco-friendly materials such as bioplastics and bioscale are used at industrial sites to protect the environment. Despite these efforts, some people and businesses are overfishing and deforestation for profit.Interesting
I was interested in over-packaging using plastic, so it was good to learn about bioplastics. It was contributing a little to the environment by making bioplastics with corn starch and vegetable oil. However, since bioplastics also contain petroleum, one of the components of plastic, the best environmental protection method will have to try to reduce the use of plastic itself in real life.Discussion
In Korea, various gift sets are sold during the holidays. This includes packaging of unnecessary plastic materials. With the recent wave of environmental protection, it seems that the overpackaging of gifts is being reduced accordingly. What other examples of plastic use decrease can be seen around?
The most prominent example within the range of students' lives is "coffee shops." Nowadays, there is a ban on the use of disposable cups in coffee shops, and efforts are being made to replace plastic straws with paper straws. Starbucks, the largest franchise coffee shop, replaced plastic with paper straws inside the store.
