What is meant by that?


Society is not determined by technology, nor is technology determined by society. Both emerge as two sides of the sociotechnical coin. 
 
     I think it means that while neither society nor technology dominates the other entirely with a higher concept, technology and society have a significant impact on each other. I have presented examples of changes in technology according to social regulation in previous blog posts. As such, technology is affected by society. On the contrary, there are times when new technologies emerge and social appearance changes. For example, in the past, there were no crimes such as voice phishing or hacking of personal information through the Internet or through communication devices due to the lack of development of communication devices or the Internet. However, the development of technology has caused these social problems and society has created a new law called the Information and Communication Act to punish and control the crime. As such, the development of new technologies can change society, change society's perception, and change the direction of technology's development. Therefore, it can be said that society and technology are closely related to each other.

So to begin with, I think that society and technology are the relationships that influence each other, the concepts that one cannot include or dominate.
