1.     Summary

This text is about how Wikipedia has achieved great success. The core of Wikipedia is a "cooperative community" that allows us to understand the world freely and voluntarily. The collaboration takes place within the culture or norms of the community.

The first reason for the success of Wikipedia, a web-based open content book, was technology. Technology played an important role in inspiring the vision of a universal encyclopedia. Networking technology and associated cooperative techniques have facilitated new socialization among people by enabling openness and accessibility. People can communicate and contribute incrementally on Wiki. In other words, Wikipedia is a community and leads a collaborative culture.

2.     Interesting point

The interesting part is the description of technology. Wikipedia has been successful through technology. Through advanced technology, people create new communication in Wikipedia. However, this is due to people's voluntary sharing and cooperation. This cooperation is facilitated structurally through a particular culture or values.

3.     Discuission
The article explains that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia status that critics suspect. Indeed, law professor Eric Goldman repeats that Wikipedia will "fail." So do you think Wikipedia will fail? If not, what is the reason?

Comments

  1. Wikipedia does not think it will fail. Wikipedia is a common entity, a culture of cooperation and an appropriate means for knowledge transfer. For society to develop, a process called "delivery of knowledge" is necessary. Wouldn't Wikipedia be an appropriate means for society to develop?

  2. I don't think Wikipedia will fail. Although the status of encyclopedia is being questioned by critics, I think Wikipedia is the kind of encyclopedia that is updated and modified fastest. I think it's meaningful in itself, even if it doesn't get the official recognition or status of an encyclopedia.

  3. I don't think Wikipedia will fail. Because it's a place where more people can generate information and get information than other encyclopedias. So over the next few years, Wikipedia will continue to play the role of a useful dictionary as it is today. But I think Wikipedia could disappear in the future if there were media that could be more accurate and more convenient to record information than Wikipedia.

  4. Wikipedia will evolve as time goes by. Wikipedia is an aggregate of personal knowledge. Recently, people are receiving basic education and studying additional studies that they are interested in. One of the places that share this knowledge is Wikipedia. After all, Wikipedia will maintain its current global success.
