W6. Social sustainability / Juhee Cha

  Social sustainability has received far less attention in public dialogue than economic and environmental sustainability. There are several approaches to sustainability. The first implies three elements: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and social sustainability, and is the most widely accepted model for sustainability. The second approach, a more recent approach, suggests that all areas of sustainability are social. Includes ecological, economic, political and cultural sustainability. These areas of social sustainability all depend on the relationship between society and nature.
  I saw social sustainability as a theory that focused on the relationship between all areas of society. I thought it was social sustainability to create a sustainable and successful society by understanding the society we live in. If various areas such as environment, economy, society, ecology, politics and culture are sustainable, I think it is a society with social sustainability. Looking at the sentence "sustainable," the environment first came to mind, and I think this approach is a theory that deals with all areas of society.

    I think that in Korea, the economic sector has a large impact on Korea's transportable development. Because for economic development, environment, etc. are developed and construction is carried out. I think our country can also agree and oppose the political sector depending on whether development is economically beneficial or not.
