Q. What makes modern societies more advanced than those of the past?

I think reflection on the past further develops the present. In Korean idiom, there is a saying "온고지신“. It means, people know the new by learning the old and procrastinating it. In other words, it analyzes the previous events and processes the current ones through them. We go through success and failure in the course of history. I think these experiences are good nourishment for people and help them move forward.

Q. Society is not determined by technology, nor is technology determined by society. Both emerge as two sides of the sociotechnical coin. What is meant by that? A.
