Extra credits: Planet of the humans documentary

The documentary examines climate change, fossil fuels, pollutions, and the green energy movement, and many more. The documentary seems to be a complex work. Presents the concerns and some solutions that people tried to imply. The question is, behind those solutions, is there really an answer to the problems we're trying to solve? The documentary debates about the sources of energy and presents a myth regarding renewables and their actual influence on the planet. The authors point out solar energy as not efficient and with a short lifespan, wind power also has low efficiency and is not a permanent solution, all of those energies need fossil fuels for the equipment to be produced and biomass is partly responsible for the deforestation. The documentary brings sad and hard truth behind our everyday life and how much cost our development. The story presents not only the environmental influences of those practices but also shows people's motivation. Hiding the truth, not providing enough information, capitalism hidden behind green movement labels. Another problem that is showed in the documentary is the level of consumption and that we as humans and planet cannot sustain this level, the current resources of energy, aren't able to provide what we need. The need for energy is constantly rising.

The important part is that we cannot accomplish the level of energy that we will need in the future. Even if we develop truly green energy (which I believe will happen), the only answer is actually lowering our consumption. I also believe we should be more conscious of our decisions and we're currently unnecessarily overusing resources.

What do you think we, as individuals, can do to be a part of a positive change?
