Is there ethnic cleansing or genocide happening today? If so, where?

Even though we learn about ethnic cleansing and genocide from history books, all of that takes place still in the current world. One of the recent are:

  • The Rohingya in Maynmar - the Rohingya are a Muslim minority in mostly Buddhist Myanmar, besides being treated as second-class citizens or even being perceived as illegal immigrants and terrorists. The Rohingya crisis a case of ethnic cleansing was declared by the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in 2017. The genocide is still happening.
  • The Nauer ad other ethnic groups in South Sudan - South Sudan's President Salva Kiir, a Dinka ethnic group member used his army with aim of ethnic cleansing against the Nuer (Dinka's main rival) and other smaller local groups through killings and rapes. The Nuer took similar actions against the Dinka.
  • Christians and Yazidis in Iraq and Syria - during ISIS's presence in the region they exterminated Yazidis, Shiites, and Christians and destroyed their villages. They also committed mass rapes in these communities. Even though in this particular area the genocide is thought to be over in 2019, genocides by ISIS are constantly performed in the occupied territories.
  • Christians and Muslims in the Central African Republic - The Central African Republic is torn by the civil war since 2013. The war ended n 2016 but the tensions raised and (as Stephen O'Brien, the head of the UN's humanitarian office said) genocide and ethnic cleansing have recently been on the rise in the country mostly between the Christian militias the "anti-Balaka" and the Muslim coalition.
  • Darfuris in Sudan - Darfur was recognized as the first genocide of the 21st century. The ethnic killings began in 2003 mostly b the ethnically Arab militias supporting Sudan's President Omar Hassan al-Bashir against non-Arab. Mostly affected were the Fur people and other small non-Arab groups. In 2017 the violence increased in Darfur and many refugee camps for displaced Darfuris were attacked by Arab forces. The situation still continues even though it had its beginning 20 years ago.
I'm sure that the mentioned events aren't the only ones. Even though sharing information around the world is easier than ever before, still people holding power don't want other nations and organizations to know about their actions. We may expect many of different occurrences not to be open to the public. The list of genocide and ethnic cleansing in human history is long. Sometimes is hard to believe that we, as humans could take those actions towards others and that it's an ongoing matter.

Do you think we will be able, as humankind, to finish the time of such events? Do you think there will be time in the future that there wont be such crimes?
