Who is affected by the digital divide? Can we think of some groups?/김윤(KIM YOON)
I think older people are subject to the digital divide, as
shown in the text.
Older people who make up the present era have already grown
older and are beginning to face the rapid development of digital devices such
as smartphones. Physical aging begins in the elderly, such as presbyopia and
decreased response speed. By the way, the world in smartphones contains very
fast and rich audio-visual materials, and smartphones contain numerous
functions that are even hard for all young people to know. Young people have
been exposed to smartphones since childhood so they can better understand the
functions of smartphones than older people and easily learn how to do so. For
older people, on the other hand, smartphones are not easy to access from it,
and even if they learn how to handle smartphones, it can be difficult for them
to continue to accept and apply new features and information directly because
digital companies constantly release new and different functions. Therefore, I
think older people realize the inevitable digital divide.
Do you think what I
suggested makes sense? Who do you think is affected by the digital divide?
