W9.Demography/Lim Ji Won

Demography is the study of population dynamics. It means a study of how the population changes over time due to population size, structure, distribution, birth, death, migration, and aging. Demography relies primarily on data from census and statistics, typically with fertility and mortality. In the case of the birth rate, the higher the educational achievement of women, the lower the birth rate, and the more advanced countries, the more expensive it is to raise children, the lower the birth rate. Death rates are also predictable through education levels, with more educated people living longer. In the early days of overpopulation, there was a theory that human populations should be controlled because of the rapid depletion of resources, which eventually makes it difficult for humans to live due to mass starvation and hunger, but on the contrary, there was also a person who approached himself with an attitude of neglect, saying that if the earth's ecosystem was overused, humans would naturally control themselves.

The most interesting thing was the use of education as an indicator of mortality. It is quite interesting that education levels and life span are correlated even when all other factors are controlled. I think that the correlation of mortality with education level proves that education itself is one of the devices representing the national system.

In advanced societies, there is a phenomenon of reverse urbanization moving from cities to rural areas, and do you think education levels can be used to predict this reverse urbanization?
