Preparing for an Aging World / Kim Yoon(김윤)

Summary

The world's aging population is accelerating as life expectancy increases and fertility rates decrease. This can lead to the nation's economic crisis in various ways. Life for the elderly should be guaranteed in many ways, including welfare for the elderly, health for the elderly and well-being for the elderly. Policy makers will have to accumulate a variety of data and prepare for the future through research with countries around the world.

Interesting

After reading this article, I looked up about Korea, and I was very surprised to discover that by 2050, Korea would become the "oldest country in the world." It was also concerned about the aging population and the resulting economic burden of each country, seeing that the world population would grow to 10.9 billion by 2100.

Discussion

Already, the world has long considered various problems caused by aging, and now it has already begun. Korea is also aging rapidly. Korea has a high rate of elderly poverty among them, what causes are there?

Comments

  1. I think one of the reasons for the high poverty rate among the elderly is "fast retirement." I think the retirement period is faster than expected in the current society. I think these problems should be solved by creating jobs for the elderly or by resetting the age of the elderly.
