How to reduce the digital divide?/김윤(KIM YOON)
I
think the cause of the digital divide is the alienation of information
exposure.
In my opinion, the target of the digital divide is the elderly and
the underprivileged who have fewer opportunities to access smartphones,
laptops, computers and so on. They don’t or cannot buy digital devices due to
physical aging or lack of economic capital. The less they are exposed to a
digital devices, the greater the gap with the person who has used it.
Therefore, I think local governments need to make various efforts to ensure that they can handle digital devices well without fear. Local governments should regularly hold free courses for the elderly, the underprivileged so they can be as least affected by the digital divide as possible.
In addition, app developers can create large-written smartphone function guides for older people who may be somewhat visually uncomfortable, helping them adapt to the functions of smartphones.
Do you agree with what I suggested? What other ways do you think to narrow the digital divide?
