Digital Divide/김윤(KIM YOON)

Summary

Digital divide mean uneven balance between countries, regions, races and rich and poor in information technology and communication technology. The digital divide was estimated in the past with the number of Internet users, but is now being measured with a variety of factors. The causes of this also vary, including economic and economic gaps and racial gaps. Among them, the lack of ICT infrastructure and lack of education are the most important, so efforts should be made to ease this and enhance accessibility between countries. There is also criticism that even if ICT technology is met, people's awareness and level of education about it will not be able to make good use of ICT technology and that appropriate education will have to be accompanied.

Interesting

I could still realize the wide gap between the two, seeing that among the paintings presented next to the article, the broadband installation rate in developed countries is nearly twice as different as in developing countries. I could see that many countries and organizations are striving for positive globalization, but there are still many ways to go.

Discussion

Do you think technology assistance is necessary for underdeveloped and developing countries that do not have much Internet technology? So to what level should we aid?

Comments

  1. I thought that support for 'recognition and education level' was the most necessary support for developing countries. Even if ICT technology is met in developing countries through technical support, there will be other problems if there is a lack of awareness and education. I think that in order for a society to develop, the various fields that make up that society must all grow properly together. Among them, I think the development of each "individual" that constitutes society is the most important.
