Demography/김윤(KIM YOON)

Summary

Demographic is a study that shows the transition of population, mainly using birth and death rates as indicators. Today, the population is on the rise due to improved economic standards and abundant food. At the same time, in advanced countries, women's fertility rates remain below 2.1, the ratio for alternative populations, due to increased education and welfare. On the contrary, developing countries have higher birth rates than poor conditions due to contrasting conditions. Overpopulation can lead to child hunger, lack of land and food. In addition, there are other things that affect demographics such as immigration and urbanization.

Interesting

I didn't know urbanization was such a big factor in demographics. Also, it was interesting that there was a difference in population due to the architectural style of the building and the history of the region.
I think the population should be maintained properly, not too much, not too much. The state must make efforts to keep the birth rate at the right level so that continued development will be possible.

Discussion

Last year, South Korea's total fertility rate stood at 0.92. The figure ranks last among OECD countries, and if it continues, Korea's population will decrease. Which factor do you think plays the biggest role in the reason why Korea's birthrate is especially low?
