W6.Sustainable Development/Lim Ji Won
Sustainable Development means that future generations can harmonize with the surrounding environment without destroying nature, without detracting from the basis for satisfying their needs. Economics, environment, and society are all comprehensively included, and culture has recently entered Sustainable Development. But this concept is a question of what should be sustained in Sustainable Development. There is also a criticism that the concept is extended from "preservation and management" to "economic development" and is a general business with ambiguous and substantive concepts attached.
However, because culture is made by humans, the classification is very ambiguous. And since Anthropocentrism also has a culture in opposition to the environment, it can make the meaning of sustainable development more ambiguous, so I think the previous criticism can gain more power.
Do you think it is right that "culture" is in the category Sustainable Development?
