W6. Sustainable Development / Seoyoung Um

Sustainable development is an organizational principle that maintains the capacity of the natural system to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services to which organizations, economies and society depend, while achieving human development goals. It is a social condition in which living environments and resources are used to meet human needs continuously without impairing the integrity and safety of the natural world.

Along with social development, we moved our focus to economic development, social awareness and environmental protection for future generations. These days, I feel that sustainable development is important. Because I felt the seriousness of global warming. I was very shocked to read in a recent article that the Arctic temperature has risen to 38 degrees Celsius. I shuddered at the thought that if this kind of situation continues, there will be only a few minutes left before the end of mankind. It must be truly sustainable development, not verbal development. In particular, the "COVID 19" stopped the operation of China's factory, which eliminated the yellow dust coming to Korea. Looking at these points, I thought we were really destroying the environment.

What are the ways that individuals can help with sustainable development?
