W6. Sustainable development / Juhee Cha
Sustainable development is an organizational principle for achieving human development goals while simultaneously maintaining the ability of natural systems to provide natural resources and ecosystem services that the economy and society depend on. As this concept developed, it shifted more focus to economic development, social development and environmental protection for future generations.Hyundai's economy is striving to harmonize its ambitious economic development with its obligations to preserve natural resources and ecosystems, both of which are usually seen as conflicting. The concept of sustainable development is being criticized. It has been argued that there is no sustainable use of non-renewable resources, as a positive proportion of any development will eventually lead to the depletion of the planet's finite resources.
I think it is a conflict that sustainable development improves the quality of human life by continuing to develop resources without damaging nature. Therefore, sustainable development is expanding to the economy, society, and environment. Examples include using inexhaustible resources to replace oil or using renewable resources to develop the economy. Or I thought that creating a system that can improve the quality of life without damaging nature on a social level would also be included in sustainable development.
