Sociocultural evolution(1)
Summary)
This article contains the arguments of various scholars, among which the theory of evolution has been criticized, and modern theory has become slightly different from classical theory. Classical sociologists thought society was becoming more and more advanced. One of them is 19th-century Auguste Conte and Herbert Spencer. Spencer developed a theory of social evolution rather than Darwin. Emil Durkhem also expressed a dichotomous view of social progress, referring to mechanical solidarity and organic solidarity.
What's interesting, what's new?)
I was impressed by Lester Frank Ward's argument. It was also interesting that he first met his name and rejected many Spencer's theories about evolution. He believes evolution is different in nature, such as plants and animals, and evolution for human survival, and claims that authoritarian governments, like Sthens, suppress individual talent. I thought he was criticizing authoritarian governments and positively assessing democratic society because he is an American sociologist.
The part I want to discuss with others)
Do you think your natural evolution can be applied to human society? (Please explain the reasons for the claim as well.) For reference, I think the evolution of nature and the way human society changes or evolves are different. Because nature changes itself to adapt to the environment, and humans change the surrounding environment by creating systems, etc. so that they can survive better.
