W5 Reading: Sociocultural evolution-2/ joon hee Lee
In modern times, the view of evolution is now largely understood rom three perspectives.
After two World Wars from a political point of view, this time the Cold War era was considered the main focus of evolution. The United States and the Soviet Union have called themselves the best in their respective systems. Many of the countries liberated from colonial rule tried to develop themselves and this itself became a role model for sociocultural evolution.
From a technical perspective, we present the combination of artificial intelligence and data at the next stage of our society. Much of our lives will continue to depend on various electronic functions, and I think we have already reached the turning point of evolution that many people have thought of.
From an anthropological point of view, I think external factors (competition in other societies, different natural environments) are the center of evolution, and some have suggested that adaptation to nature and harmony with other groups should be prioritized, not "progress."
I've been focusing on understanding Sociocultral evolution this week, but it wasn't as easy as I thought. And it was interesting that quite a few theorists were interested in this, and I think the idea that our society should focus more on harmony with its surroundings, ecology within the group than in the past, rather than on what is commonly called "civilization," is more important now than in the past.
Countries that escaped from the colonies worked harder than anyone else for their own development, and scholars regarded them as models to explain another sociocultural evolution. If so, is Korea also included in this category? If included, how should Korea move forward from a technical or anthropological perspective?
I think Korea is included in this category. First of all, I don't know if it's a technical or anthropological point of view, but I think we should fix the culture that has continued since our country was a colony of Japan during the Japanese colonial era era. Also, I think Korea can develop further by constantly learning about the historical events(ex. Military Sexual Slavery by Japan, etc.) we have experienced at that time.
