W4-2. Free Culture Movement / Kim Seon Woo
Summary
The Free Culture Movement is a social movement that promotes freedom to distribute and modify creative works as free content using the Internet and other media. This movement is against excessive copyright law. Many who participate in this movement claim that some restrictive copyright laws hinder creative action and call this system 'permission culture’.
The leading organization, that is, one that is related to free culture, is Creative Commons, founded by Lawrence Lesik. Lawrence Lessik is a professor at Harvard University School of Law and has an important position in the free software movement. In the early days of Creative Commons, it was supported by the Free Software Foundation's founder, Richard Stallman, and the Free Software Movement.
Interesting Point.
I was impressed that I was against excessive copyright law. Copyright in Korea and around the world is a very sensitive matter directly related to money, and it is impressive that there is an opposition to this.
 Discussion
Is software provided by open source such as Google's Android an example of a free culture movement?
