Can we imagine a society where people do not have to go to schools? Can it be better than our current one?
I don't think there will be a society that doesn't have to go to school. But I expect a different type of school to emerge.
I think school is important for secondary socialization of children. This is because they interact with their teachers and children of their age and learn about the norms of society. It is a very important part of maintaining society. Therefore, I expect no society to emerge without having to go to school.
I think technology will bring about a different type of education system. Education subjects such as math are conducted online and encourage children to take classes through assignments. They create subjects that require discussion so that they can come to school and have discussions with classmates and teachers in the classroom. These classes not only improve children's ability to think or reason, but also expect socialization through exchanges between people. This type of class is a different education system, and could quell criticism that "the 21st century children are educated in 20th century classrooms in 20th century ways."
