W2. Can we imagine a society where people do not have to go to schools? Can it be better than our current one? / Kim Seon Woo

I think it is possible enough. Already university education was going online. It was only accelerated by the corona virus. There are plenty of advantages when we meet offline. Professors and students can discuss in a realistic manner right in front of them, and students and students can exchange opinions quickly. In this process, you can collaborate and create new ideas.

But there aren't many other advantages. To gather in a fixed space and time, both professors and students spend a lot of time and money. Because the above-mentioned value is very important, many universities are mainly focused on offline. But after the corona crisis, universities around the world will be at a major turning point.

First of all, the development of technology is amazing. The ZOOM video conferencing system allows for quick exchange of opinions by accessing only the “same time” even if everyone is in a different space. The downside is that there is no realism, but I think it can be overcome with VR technology that will be commercialized in the future. Already, the means to replace offline university education, such as the University of Minerva and the MOOC system, is increasing. At the same time, not only universities can function as online universities. YouTube and Wikipedia can function as an educational institution. Of course, it's a problem to only take classes online.

That's why I hope that this corona virus will help the university actively utilize not only the traditional form of 'offline' but also the modern means of 'online'.
