Sustainable Development/김윤(KIM YOON)

Summary

Sustainable development is the principle for meeting human development goals while simultaneously keeping the ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services based upon which the economy and society depend. It ties together concern for the carrying capacity of natural systems with the social, political and economic challenges faced by human. Currently, there are diverse tries and effort to decrease gas emission, excessive logging and so on.

Interesting

There were many themes to read interestingly, I particularly interested in 'sustainable transport'. I could read detailed article through link. There are green vehicles, electric vehicles and so on. The Online Electric Vehicle, developed by KAIST in Korea, is an electric vehicle that can be charged while stationary or driving, so it removes the need to stop at a charging station.
I could also saw the graph arguing that greenhouse gas emissions from transport vary widely, even for cities of comparable wealth.

Discussion

What can be done at home for sustainable development?

What do you think about having a more intensive regulatory policy in developed countries due to history, technology and so on? Also, do you think it is being followed well?
