Sociocultural evolution(1) / Kim Ami

1.     Summary
Social and cultural evolution or cultural evolution is a cultural and social evolution theory that explains how culture and society change over time. Social and cultural evolution considers processes that can cause change or spread without reducing complexity or significantly changing complexity. Three classical theories of social and historical change emerged in the 19th century, all of whom said that the history of mankind was pursuing some fixed path, a history of social progress. Therefore, they thought, by reproducing the sequence of such events, sociology could discover the "law" of history.

2.     Interesting point
The interesting part was the story of Ferdinand Tony. Ferdinand Tony is a sociologist who is said to be one of the first sociologists to argue that social evolution is not necessarily going in the right direction, and that social progress is not perfect. I agree with him. Because social development cannot necessarily be in the right direction, I think conflicts arise between people. So we should try to solve this problem with the right dialogue.

3.     Discuission
Like classical theories, can we discover the laws of the times we live in?
