How are the SDGs different from MDGs?/ Kim Seonghui

The biggest difference between MDGs and SDGs is the level of segmentation of goals. If MDGs wanted to focus resources limited to underlying objectives under eight objectives, SDGs included 17 agenda items and 169 subdivided objectives for each agenda. This was to add new issues such as inequality, human rights, decent jobs, and subdivided environmental issues that were alienated due to limited goals and to expand the scope of the implementation of the goals.
In addition, if MDGs' contents focused on basic goals of human development, focusing on developing countries and poverty, SDGs aim to shift the way they develop, including consumption, life and environment in not only developing countries but also all countries around the world.
Beyond the simple international development agenda, it presents a spirit of agenda that realizes shared aspirations for a shared future.
