Free-culture movement

Copyrights laws are these days an important topic. A lot of creators can reach a wider audience due to the use of new media which also makes it more possible for people to violate their laws while using their work. This problem can be seen from the other perspective. This is how the free-culture movement has been created. It's a result of a belief that letting others freely modify the creative works supports creativity and process this is seen as a free exchange of ideas.

I find it interesting to approach the topic from this perspective. To think about how much we as a community could benefit if the access to certain works was less limited.

How it can help with social development?
Because of the allowance to use someone else's work, creators become free to get inspired and use other works. A lot of ideas can be spread and developed because of fewer barriers. That does not apply only to the artistic field. People would get free access also to academic researches that not everyone can access.
