What are the pros and cons of using Naver versus Google for research purposes? / Kim Seon Woo

Naver is the most familiar portal for Koreans. It is no exaggeration to say that most Koreans start their first start with Naver News. Thanks to this, Naver is most familiar with finding information. However, I think this is the biggest advantage and disadvantage.
Naver is very useful for searching for questions and common sense in everyday life. However, if you are looking for specialized material or content, you will soon encounter numerous advertisements. It is very difficult to filter out useful information among advertisements that have been spread.

That's why Naver is not suitable for research purposes.

Google is concise and fast. It shows news, community, and various blog posts related to one search term. When you do a search, Google is not as friendly as Naver. However, the user scrolls and eventually encounters the desired information. And there are not many ads in the process. Google Search contains the right level of advertising. But the question is, can you trust the information? Google shows all the information on the Internet, so I question the reliability.

Therefore, for research purposes, I think that Google and Naver should use neither or both. If you are looking for a thesis, it is the most difficult and accurate way to enter the academic site of an academic site, the website of a media company if you are looking for a newspaper article, and the statistics office of each country if you are looking for statistics.
